Something Digital 2021

  October 20

Something Digital was created in 2018 to bring Queensland’s digital community together and strengthen our State’s digital ecosystem.

Whilst technology is key to solving complex problems, it is the digital piece that converts the tech into human centred platforms that can be used, marketed and sold. Digital innovation is the bridge between the tech and humanity.

Through its initiatives, Something Digital provides our ecosystem with opportunities to build digital capabilities, collaborate with other organisations and showcase some of the great innovations happening right here in our backyard.

So whether you are a founder, a CXO, a manager or a person who gets stuff done; in a startup, enterprise, small business, government department or academic body; fulfilling a tech, leadership, marketing or other role which leverages digital innovation, then we have something digital for you!

Building on the success of the 2020 festival, Something Digital 2021 will again run as a multi-day, multi-venue, hybrid festival.

Whether we need our organisations to be more efficient, increase ROI, create better customer experiences or design new products and services, an understanding of how to leverage digital innovation and emerging technology is paramount.

Curated Program

In 2021, the curated program will run over two days, giving us the opportunity to dive deep into those the most important areas of digital innovation.

The In-Person activations will run in multiple venues across Brisbane, enabling our digital community to meet, engage and collaborate.

In-person attendees will again be able to benefit from masterclasses, networking drinks, SD crossover events and other goodness we have yet to imagine.

The Online experience will run via our virtual hub with content from the main stage streamed live.

Open Studios

On the final day of the festival, local Brisbane businesses have the opportunity to throw open their doors to the wider community, showcasing their projects, services and digital aptitude.

Run as short, sharp and punchy sessions ... we call these events 'Open Studios'.

Open Studios are free to attend and do not require a Something Digital ticket. In 2021 we expect our Open Studios to again be a mix of online and in person events.

The Something School

The future of work is changing faster now than ever before. With the latest reports finding that Gen Z are likely to change careers every seven years, it is essential that we prepare them with the 21st century skills necessary to thrive in the workforce of the future.

As creators of the digital economy it is our responsibility to nurture the young people who will shape tomorrow's digital ecosystem.

Run in partnership with BOP Industries, the Something School will gives high school students from across Brisbane the opportunity to join us for an immersive and inspirational day focused on all things digital and innovation.
