Lifetime Members

As Australia's web industry evolves, it's important to acknowledge and celebrate those who have made a significant contribution to its growth and success. AWIA accepts nominations for individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and dedicated their time, skills and energy to making the industry what it is today.

What is lifetime membership?

If a nominee is successful, they will be inducted into the AWIA Lifetime Members hall of fame and enjoy lifetime membership to AWIA.

Eligibility for Lifetime Membership

Nominations can be made by any AWIA member for an individual who has had both a significant contribution to the Australian web industry and to the Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA).

Contribution to the Australian Web Industry

  • The nominee must be noteworthy for having made an exceptional contribution to the Australian Web Industry (ie. the industry as a whole) over a period of no less than 5 years.

  • The nominee and associated firm(s) should be known for demonstrating excellence in their work and setting a high bar for the industry to be measured by.

  • Whilst the quality of work is an important consideration, contribution to industry requires that the nominee has “given back” and that the industry is better off through their contribution. The nominee must be known for helping advance the industry, for example through advocacy, educating, mentoring, etc.

Contribution to AWIA

  • The nominee must be noteworthy for having made an exceptional contribution to AWIA (i.e. the association) over a period of not less than 5 years.

  • Having served on the Board, a sub-committee and/or managing a flagship initiative are useful and objective indicators of exceptional contribution, however, these activities alone are not sufficient to meet the bar for life membership.

  • A nominee's lasting legacy (e.g. initiatives and improvements that persisted long past their tenure) is an excellent indicator to support the nominee's contribution.
